The mean relaxation time of isolated, equalmass Nbody systems with small N.
Abstract
The timescale of relaxation in isolated, equalmass Nbody systems with small N is studied experimentally using three 32body calculations sampled at five times, three early in the evolution and two somewhat later. The results are consistent with predictions based on classical twobody encounter theory after allowance is made for the variations in density and rms velocity through the systems.
