Approximate formulas for Franck-Condon factors
Abstract
Approximate formulas are derived which express small quantum number Franck-Condon factors as simple functions of a transition parameter u = μA?e(Δre)2/67.4425. These formulas give values which agree well with more elaborate calculations. They are particularly useful for band systems for which only rudimentary molecular data exist.
