Approximate formulas for FranckCondon factors
Abstract
Approximate formulas are derived which express small quantum number FranckCondon factors as simple functions of a transition parameter u = μ_{A}?_{e}(Δr_{e})^{2}/67.4425. These formulas give values which agree well with more elaborate calculations. They are particularly useful for band systems for which only rudimentary molecular data exist.
