A new numerical method for asymmetrical Abel inversion
Abstract
A new asymmetrical Abel inversion has been developed for application to plasma diagnostics data on toroidal systems in which asymmetry exists normal to the direction of propagation. A weighting function, obtained by separating the integrated quantity into odd and even parts, was used to determine the asymmetrical local value. This numerical code was applied successfully to experimental data, from which a valid local value was obtained.
