Gas storage technique for the repetitively pulsed operation of a continuously excited laser
Abstract
This paper reports a technique by which repetitively pulsed outputs may be obtained from some continuously excited gas lasers by supplying the resonator with pulses of excited gas. The technique is applied to a CO2 laser in which 14 kW, 1 ms (FWHM) pulses are produced at a repetition frequency of 200 Hz.
