Investigation of digital PAFC of TDMA equipment taking delay into consideration
Abstract
The design of a digital synchronization system used in a satellite communications system with multistation access and time division is described. The characteristics of digital and continuous control systems are compared. A procedure is proposed that makes it possible, under specified conditions, to calculate the transient in the phase-locked automatic frequency control system at the moment of 'pull-in' and to evaluate the accuracy of synchronization in the steady-state mode of operation. Here, the specific nature of the time division access to a repeater and the inherent time delay in the synchronization of signals over a ground station - satellite - ground station link are taken into consideration.
