Iron in the clouds of Venus.
Abstract
Venera-probe X-ray measurements of the iron content in the clouds of Venus are analyzed. It is found that the iron in these clouds occurs mainly in the aerosol phase and is probably present in the form of FeCl3. The bulk concentration of iron in the cloud aerosol is estimated to be 0.21 + or - 0.06 mg/cu m.
