Single Channel Per Carrier (SCPC)-FM system
Abstract
Multiple access methods are summarized, then the design of a single channel per carrier (SCPC) system for telephone and radio transmission using frequency modulation is described. It is shown that the required transmission quality can be obtained by companding, emphasis control and with a voice operated carrier. The concepts chosen for the basic equipment, the carrier generation and the channel units are explained. The main points of the technical realization as well as the engineering design are dealt with in detail. Measurement results are given, and possible applications are shown.
