Attitude and orbit control
Abstract
After a brief general discussion of satellite attitude and orbit control, the paper considers gyroscopic stabilization and triaxial stabilization systems in detail. Gyroscopic stabilization is discussed with reference to attitude evolution; the stabilization of Meteosat is considered as an example. Triaxial stabilization is examined with attention given to methods for the measurement and control of attitude, kinetic-moment stabilization (Telecom), and stabilization without the use of kinetic moment (SPOT).
