Rural satellite earth stations
Abstract
FM single channel per carrier (SCPC) techniques provide a good solution for rural route systems where field-proven and versatile equipment is needed. Economic tradeoff studies which include long-term costs of system ownership and operation show the significant effects of the cost of energy and indicate that low power drain equipment should be developed. This paper considers various aspects of rural satellite network design and examines rural earth station configurations.
