Research and engineering design of a microcomputer controlled unmanned free swimming vehicle
Abstract
The development of technology related to unmanned, untethered vehicles for offshore inspection purposes is described. Modification of the pipeline follower vehicle system from a mission of pipeline following to structural inspection is described. The command, control, communication, and navigation computer systems of the Experimental Autonomous Vehicle (EAVE) are described in detail. Flow charts and a navigation algorithm are presented.
