Linear vibration techniques for measuring the cross axis error coefficient in an accelerometer
Abstract
FX1 is an error term identified for the specific force integrating receiver on the MX Missile Program. It is an error in the sensed input axis acceleration caused by a forcing function component of acceleration into the device cross axis. This paper examines a linear vibrator methodology proposed for the study of this error term; the basic problem in the measurement technique is to reduce the disturbances in the test environment to the point where mathematics can produce a reliable estimate of FX1. The design of a vibration facility for measuring VX1 is also described.
