Observability of accelerometer test-input errors
Abstract
A test and analysis method is described which permits accurate calibration of accelerometers, despite the presence of systematic test-input errors. A specific calibration task is addressed, namely the accurate estimation of accelerometer (PIGA) cross-axis q-squared sensitivity (FX1), in the presence of mechanical test-equipment inaccuracies and geophysically-induced tilt variations. A technique is presented for estimating the PIGA parameters as well as mechanical and tilt-induced errors via utilization of linear regression methods.
