Characteristics of transmitting media and their models
Abstract
The characteristics of coaxial cables utilized for numerical transmission were analyzed. Mathematical models are detailed pointing out the high frequency approximation and the effects of a resistive circuit closing. The computerized simulation of coaxial cables, the measurement of characteristic parameters, the effects of noise and temperature, and the modeling of impedance irregularities are discussed. Other transmitting media are also treated, including symmetrical couples and optical fibers and their models.
