Investigation of wideband resonance silencers
Abstract
The paper deals with an experimental study of the performance and characteristics of wideband silencers with sound-absorbing walls of periodic structure. It is shown that such devices provide attenuation of 6 to 10 dB/m over a frequency range of two or three octaves. In addition, attenuation can be made to peak at a desired frequency.
