Calculation of the eigenmodes of a ring resonator with transversely variable anisotropy
Abstract
An analytical method for calculating the eigenmodes of a ring laser resonator with transversely variable anisotropy is presented. Attention is given to the properties of a nonreciprocal resonator with a linear dependence of the phase anisotropy on the transverse coordinate; these properties are studied on the basis of an integral field distribution in the form of the superposition of plane waves of similar propagation directions. The spatial separation of counterpropagating beams of the same polarization is determined.
