Evaluation of the difference between the absorbed and emitted energy in radiant transfer problems
Abstract
The analysis deals with an unsteady-state radiant transfer problem where knowledge of the difference between the absorbed and emitted flux is required in the determination of the radiation-flux divergence. It is assumed that the emitted energy is known, while the absorbed energy must be evaluated by an approximate method. An integral representation of the radiation-flux divergence is proposed, using which the absorbed energy need not be evaluated.
