Longitudinal electron thermal conductivity of a turbulent current-carrying plasma
Abstract
The energy losses are assessed for a turbulent plasma generated by a high-current direct gas discharge stabilized by a uniform magnetic field. The analytical results are compared with experimental data obtained with the Grom-3 system. The role of turbulent effective collision frequency as a factor reducing the basic losses is demonstrated. A thermoelectromotive force effect in the plasma is observed experimentally.
