The image amplifier spectrograph at the Heidelberg Observatory
Abstract
The paper reviews the history of the Koenigstuhl Observatory in Heidelberg, West Germany and describes the spectrograph in use since 1976 and the results obtained. The Cassegrain spectrograph and its various features such as the collimator, image amplifier housing, and light meter are described. Attention is also given to the standard camera and the image tubes. In addition, discussion covers the comparison between observations made with and without the amplifier. Finally, consideration is given to the exposure times and observations.
