Propagation of electromagnetic waves in conical equal-spacing helical antennas with small axial length
Abstract
Experimental results are presented on the distribution of relative amplitudes and phase of voltage on the wires of conical equal-spacing helical antennas with large cone angles (beta not less than 30 deg). It is shown that the amplitude of the wave reflected from the end of the helix increases with increasing beta; these waves are suppressed by the switch-on of a load, whereas helical antennas with a small cone angle (beta less than 30 deg) can be used without load.
