Diffraction of electromagnetic waves at a cone of finite length
Abstract
The integral equation method is used to investigate the scattering of a plane electromagnetic wave by a conducting cone of finite length (i.e., a cone with a rounded base). The influence of the round base and the influence of the cone apex angle on the scattered field are examined. Solutions obtained with the geometrical diffraction method and with the edge-wave method are compared with the exact solution obtained by the integral equation method.
