Elastic and inelastic scattering of 40Ar from 208Pb at 236 MeV
Abstract
The scattering of 40Ar from 208Pb at 236 MeV has been measured with sufficient energy resolution to separate elastic from inelastic scattering. The results demonstrate the importance of long-range absorption due to strong Coulomb interaction and are well reproduced by appropriate theoretical calculations.
