Use of a holographic interferometer for visualizing three-dimensional gas flows along an aeroballistic trajectory
Abstract
This paper presents the results of an experimental study of axisymmetrical and three-dimensional gas flows by means of a holographic interferometer having a diffuse signal beam. The interference patterns of the flow around a sphere and a cone, moving in air at an angle of approximately 6 deg, are shown. The density field in the gas stream is calculated from the interferogram of the axisymmetrical flow around the sphere.
