Inverse heat conduction problems  Survey of the literature
Abstract
An overview of recent literature on inverse heat conduction problems is presented; linear and nonlinear and onedimensional and twodimensional problems are considered, along with coupledfield problems. Particular consideration is given to the application of the least squares method to the inverse problem of heat conduction, a temperature extrapolation mechanism for twodimensional heat flow, numerical solutions to an inverse problem of heat conduction for simple shapes, and unsteady fields of temperature and thermal stresses in rotating disks of axialflow turbines.
