Polarization characteristics of southern pulsars. III. 1612 MHz observations.
Abstract
Observations of integrated profiles and polarization characteristics at a frequency of 1612 MHz are presented for 38 pulsars. The observed mean values of linear and circular polarization, 17.5 and 10 per cent respectively, are both less than corresponding values at lower frequencies. Both of these effects may be a consequence of the observed increased occurrence of orthogonal mode emission at this higher frequency. Highly polarized precursor components similar to that in the Crab pulsar have been discovered in two pulsars.
