Solar flare of November 22, 1977.
Abstract
Prognoz-6 measurements of X-rays and charged-particle fluxes are used to investigate the solar flare of November 22, 1977. X-ray measurements indicate that three phases can be distinguished in the development of the flare event; these phases are characterized by a gradual increase in the limit energy of X-ray bursts. An analysis of the time profiles of charged-particle intensity shows that particle diffusion coefficients in this event were strongly dependent on distance, and increased with distance from the sun.
