A finite element analysis of parallel-coupled acoustic systems using subsystems
Abstract
A Lagrangian energy expression is presented that is suitable for finite element analysis of parallel-coupled acoustic systems, as a series of subsystems. The analysis can proceed in small stages, thereby being versatile and economic in computing costs. The technique has been applied to automotive muffler configurations and has been verified experimentally.
