Performance study of an acousto-optic frequency shifter in a CO2 laser velocimeter
Abstract
The performance of a germanium acousto-optic modulator, to provide a frequency shifted local oscillator in a CO2 laser velocimeter, has been investigated. Good heterodyning efficiency was found in contrast to previous reports. Practical operation of the device for direction sensing is described.
