Charge Transfer of Doubly Charged Oxygen Ions in Helium
Abstract
The charge transfer reaction O+++He->O++He+ is analyzed. argued that the measured upper limit of 10-14 cm3 s-1 for the rate coefficient is close to the actual value and that the rate coefficient is a rapidly increasing function of temperature. A value between 4×10-14 cm3 s-1 and 4×10-13 cm3 s-1 is predicted at 1000 K and between 2×10-11 and 1×10-10 cm3 s-1 at 10,000 K.
