Distribution of the coefficients of elasticity in nucleon-lead nucleus interactions
Abstract
Nam, Nikol'skii, and Pavliuchenko (1977) have obtained a mean value of 0.42 plus or minus 0.03 for the coefficient of elasticity, u, and have pointed out that due to methodological errors this value should be regarded as the upper bound of u for nucleon-lead nucleus interactions at energies of 1 to 30 TeV. In the present paper, artificial nuclear cascades are generated by the Monte Carlo method, with the aim of studying the distribution of the coefficients of elasticity.
