Te/011/ mode sectorial circular cylindrical cavities filters
Abstract
A cavity resonator for the TE(011) circular mode is presented which can be used to construct a compact multiple-cavity filter. A complete modal analysis of the cavity and the resultant mode chart are given. Theoretical values of Q are obtained and compared with those for the usual circular cylindrical cavity modes. A 4-cavity implementation of a 4-pole elliptic filter is demonstrated and its experimental responses are discussed. The small size of the multiple-cavity design could significantly reduce the weight and volume of narrow-band filters.
