Te/011/ mode sectorial circular cylindrical cavities filters
Abstract
A cavity resonator for the TE(011) circular mode is presented which can be used to construct a compact multiplecavity filter. A complete modal analysis of the cavity and the resultant mode chart are given. Theoretical values of Q are obtained and compared with those for the usual circular cylindrical cavity modes. A 4cavity implementation of a 4pole elliptic filter is demonstrated and its experimental responses are discussed. The small size of the multiplecavity design could significantly reduce the weight and volume of narrowband filters.
