Universal equations for the second boundary layer approximation
Abstract
Consideration is given to the integration of the second boundary layer approximation in a steady flow regime. Universal equations are derived for the three functions representing the presence of turbulence in the external flow, the interaction of boundary layer and external flows and the effects of curvature which are combined linearly to form the second approximation to the boundary layer flow around a body. The resulting linear partial differential equations have coefficients determined by the solution of the first boundary layer approximation, which may then be integrated rather easily with the use of an electronic calculator.
