Yupiter-1M single-gap electromagnetic confinement system
Abstract
An experiment was conducted to study plasma accumulation in the Jupiter-1M confinement device during electron ionization of the working gas. The total number of particles and their lifetime in the trap were determined as a function of electron-injection current, injection energy, injection pulse duration, and magnetic field. The radial distribution of the charged-particle flux in the axial aperture of the trap was also determined.
