Electron processes of spin relaxation in ferromagnetic metals and semiconductors. I - General relationships
Abstract
Expressions are obtained for the spectrum and attenuation of the long-wave spin excitation in ferromagnetic metals or semiconductors at temperatures below Curie point for the cases of weak and strong spin relaxation of s- and d-subsystems as well as weak and strong cross relaxation. It is shown that the electron attenuation of low-frequency long-wave modes in metal is always proportional to the mode frequency and inversely proportional to the mean spin. Correlation between these expressions and results obtained by means of Green's functions is established.
