Effects of transformer-type eddy-current transducer parameters on the structure and characteristics of electromagnetic measuring devices
Abstract
The characteristics of a double-wound eddy-current sensor placed above nonferromagnetic conducting half space are investigated as a function of the ratio of the radii of the windings and the distance between the windings. The study is based on analysis of exact solutions to the electromagnetic equations in the measurement of gaps and specific conductivity for nonferromagnetic components. It is shown that the structure of the electromagnetic device and the metrological characteristics are largely determined by the design features of the sensor.
