A modernized program device for geophysical observatories
Abstract
The paper considers the possibilities of plotting the absolute time directly on the registrograms, particularly on the seismograms. On the basis of experience in this field and new larger requirements, the necessity of developing a contemporary universal program device for geophysical observatories was determined. The different possibilities for absolute time coding are considered, and the most expedient coding method for the case code was selected. A universal program device for geophysical observatories UPDGO 4-6 is described; the device has been modernized and specially designed for seismological observatories. The flow-chart of the device and the flow-chart of the basic block-coder were considered; the time charts illustrating the consecutive synthesizing of the code and the code combinations for the hours accepted for marking are shown. The specifications of UPDGO 4-6 and its possible applications are given.
