Measured spatial properties of the cw Nd:YAG beam
Abstract
The spatial properties of a CW Nd:YAG laser were measured for power levels (0-100 W) of interest in materials studies; the knife-edge method and the encircled-power method were used in the measurements. A simple expression was obtained which can be used to describe the power density of the beam as a function of peak power density and halfwidth at half-maximum.
