A new scaling law for galaxy clustering
Abstract
The clustering properties of galaxies cataloged by Zwicky et al. (1961-1968) are studied through a very wide range of clustering levels, ranging from approximately 1.5 to 10000 in surface density enhancement above the mean. The generation of group catalogs is described, and some of the terms used are defined. Results obtained from the catalogs are presented, and an interpretation of the results is given.
