Spectroscopic observations of CH CYG in 1977 - 1979.
Abstract
A new outburst of CH Cygni has been observed spectroscopically with high dispersion at the Haute Provence Observatory. The results of the measurements of radial velocities on some of the spectra so far obtained are reported. The structure of the extended atmosphere is complex. The striking characteristic of the spectra in the period 1977-1979 is the simultaneous presence of P Cyg (H and K lines) and inverse P Cyg profiles (Balmer lines).
