Dynamically tuned gyroscopes
Abstract
Research on the dynamics and suspensions of dynamically tuned gyroscopes, which have applications to inertial navigation and to problems of angular stabilization, is discussed. Among the gyroscopes investigated are the tuning-fork gyroscope, oscillogyro, multigimbal suspensions, and gyroscopes incorporating a Hooke's-joint coupling, tuned spokes, or a rotating beam, some of which make inertial standards of performance possible.
