Nuclear powered satellite studies
Abstract
The development of tools and inputs to be used in evaluating applications of nuclear power to satellites is discussed. Considerations include new constraints of the space transportation system, projected missions through the 1990's, and technology advances in nuclear power supplies. The topics addressed include satellite simulation software, GPHS reentry stability, nuclear reactor technology, ion engine technology, and orbit considerations.
