Flow acoustic interaction near a plane heat conducting compliant boundary
Abstract
Flow over a compliant boundary generates sound. In the problem considered the flow is over a plane compliant boundary whose temperature differs from that of the fluid. The flow produces a turbulent boundary layer on the surface. The sound generated by turbulence and the thermal sources within the boundary layer are described in a way which is exact and which displays the mean flow acoustic interaction explicitly.
