Active media for gasdynamic laser
Abstract
Experimental and theoretical results are presented on N2O gasdynamic lasers with adiabatic expansion. In addition, attention is given to the effect of hydrogen halide additives and water vapor on relaxation processes in CO2 lasers; conditions under which halide additives improve the performance of the laser are determined. Finally, chemically active GDL media are considered, with particular consideration given to the high-efficiency CS2-O2 mixture. Problems associated with the creation of population inversion in the atmosphere are discussed
