A new and simple digital recursive filter with very low cut-off frequency
Abstract
Data processing in continuous wind tunnels requires the use of low-pass filters with very low cut-off frequencies. To this end, a simple digital recursive filter using only shift-registers and adders is developed. This filter, using hard wired logic, has an adjustable cut-off frequency at very low values, and its transfer function is extremely stable. The discussion covers a brief review of recursive digital filters, suppression of multipliers and coefficients of optimization, and development of second-order recursive digital filter with a cabled logic. The digital recursive filter is built in compact modular form and can be computer programmed in the following modes: low pass, high pass, band reject, and all pass. Applications of interest are stated.
