M-ary CPFSK type of signaling with input data symbol pulse shaping - Minimum distance and spectrum
Abstract
Previous results for bounds on the performance of binary CPFSK with data symbol input pulse shaping are extended to the M-ary case, where the symbol pulse shaping is over 1 symbol interval, and M denotes the number of levels per symbol interval. New systems with better error probability and spectral properties than linear phase M-ary CPFSK are compared with MSK and found to be significantly better in Eb/No for large S/N ratios without expanded bandwidth.
