A 300 megabaud frame synchronizer and interface design for variable capacity TDMA ground terminals
Abstract
Block diagram designs for implementing full-band (500 Mhz) TDMA synchronization and interfacing equipment. Emphasis is placed on some designs for compression/expansion buffers for interfacing the satellite-system burst transmission to continuous terrestrial digital transmission. These designs provide a 'rubber' interface which is necessary to maintain frame integrity of terrestrial channel banks as the satellite undergoes its daily motion, with the consequent path length variations.
