Tactical missile performance requirements: A methodology for development
Abstract
The philosophy by which tactical air launched missile design requirements are developed using the development planning process used by the United States Air Force is addressed. The mission to be accomplished including the countering influence of the threat was examined. The alternative approaches to the solution are compared. A tradeoff design analysis of subsystem and system performance, effectiveness and costs is presented. Typical generic factors of speed, maneuverability, range, and payload are discussed.
