Measurement of the periodic variation of turbomachine flow fields
Abstract
Wakes shed by an upstream blade row are chopped and transported by a downstream blade row, causing a periodic variation in the downstream blade row flow. Hence, information on the variation of turbomachine flows with increments of rotor motion is desirable. In the present paper, a technique for obtaining periodic-average velocity vector data for turbomachines is described. The block and circuit diagrams of the measuring system are discussed.
