Time marching methods for turbomachinery flow calculations: Methods of improving convergence
Abstract
The time marching methods for the calculation of inviscid, transonic flows are examined. Several finite difference schemes for time marching methods, applied to the calculation of one dimensional, inviscid, transonic flow with shock through a convergent-divergent channel are described. The means to improve the convergence speed of a particular finite difference scheme are discussed. A one dimensional investigation, applied to the calculation of the inviscid, blade to blade flow in a transonic turbine cascade using a finite volume discretization method to discretize the flow domain is discussed.
