Scattering of a CO2 laser beam by microscopic fluctuations in plasma density
Abstract
The paper deals with an experimental study of the scattering of CO2 laser radiation by the azimuthal oscillations of a plasma filament from a high-current hollow-cathode arc discharge in a magnetic field. The high-frequency portion of the oscillation spectrum is studied from the small-angle scattering of the emission of a 40-kW TEA CO2 laser. A dispersion relation is obtained from the distortion of thy time spectrum of plasma waves, observed at various scattering angles.
