Measurement of the nitrogen vibrational temperature in a fastflow CO2 laser
Abstract
In the present paper, the possibility of determining the vibrational temperature of the ground state of the nitrogen molecule in the presence of oxygen from the intensity of the 2+ band system of N2 is verified experimentally at gas pressures between 10 and 100 torr. The method is applied to the determination of the energy balance in a gas discharge chamber of a CO2 laser with rapidly circulating flow.
